Company Overview

BotCity is building the future of automation with the Governance Platform for Python automations and AI Agents. We empower enterprises to innovate at scale, bringing governance, control, and observability to every automation project. Our philosophy is simple: automation is software, and software deserves the same high-code standards that drive innovation in AI and machine learning.

We recently raised a $12M Series A, led by Four Rivers with participation from Y Combinator, SoftBank, and top industry leaders such as Lew Cirne (New Relic), Rod Johnson (Spring Source), and Walter Kortschak (Summit Partners | Firestreak Ventures). With 1,000+ customers in 70+ countries, including Bayer and LG, and recognition by G2 (2024) as one of the world’s top 25 emerging platforms, BotCity is scaling fast.

We’re a global remote company with teams across the US and LATAM, united by a shared vision to redefine how enterprises build and manage automation. If you’re looking for an environment that values impact, autonomy, and excellence, we’d love for you to join us on this journey.

Role Overview

The Product Owner will be responsible for driving Sentinel's product execution by translating the CTO's strategic direction into a clear, well-prioritized backlog that keeps the engineering squad focused and moving fast toward product-market fit. This person will own the full execution layer — maintaining sprint-ready user stories, removing blockers in real time, and tracking the delivery metrics that drive continuous improvement in quality and predictability. This role is built for a strong product professional who is comfortable navigating ambiguity in an early-stage environment, obsessed with delivery quality, and data-driven enough to let metrics guide process decisions — not gut feel. This position reports directly to the CTO.

Responsibilities

  • Own Sentinel's product backlog end-to-end — grooming, prioritization, dependency management, and sprint readiness.
  • Ensure 100% of items entering a sprint have clearly defined acceptance criteria, eliminating rework caused by scope ambiguity.
  • Frame backlog items as testable hypotheses where appropriate, keeping delivery connected to Sentinel's PMF learning agenda and ensuring the team knows what success looks like each cycle.
  • Lead sprint ceremonies — planning, refinement, review, and retrospectives — adapting agile practices pragmatically to what the team actually needs.
  • Translate strategic direction from the CTO into clear, well-scoped stories, asking the right clarifying questions upfront to prevent rework downstream.
  • Proactively initiate and structure discovery work every sprint cycle — user feedback synthesis, assumption mapping, delivery retrospectives — and bring evidence-based recommendations to the CTO.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for requirement clarification during development, unblocking engineers quickly and protecting sprint integrity.
  • Define, monitor, and report on delivery health KPIs through Jira — including sprint predictability, defect leakage, and cycle time — giving the CTO continuous visibility into Sentinel's delivery quality.
  • Contribute actively to roadmap and product direction conversations, bringing a grounded, delivery-informed perspective to strategic discussions.
Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or related field.
  • Prior experience (3+ years) in product ownership or a closely adjacent role in a tech company, ideally operating as the primary or sole PO on a product.
  • Strong experience working in B2B SaaS market.
  • Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle — from code changes flowing through development, staging, and production environments, through QA evaluation and release.
  • Proven ability to independently own a full product backlog, including stories, acceptance criteria, dependencies and prioritization.
  • Solid experience running Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Proficient with Jira for project, backlog and sprint management.
  • Prior experience in an early-stage, high-growth, and fast-paced startup environment.
  • Experience working with MS Office/Excel, Google Suite, Notion.
  • Ability to travel as needed to support events and meet the team.
  • Portuguese - Fluent.
  • English - Advanced.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to enterprise software, automation, AI agents, or developer-facing products.
  • Experience working directly with a CTO or VP Engineering as primary stakeholder.
  • Familiarity with product analytics tools (e.g., Mixpanel, Amplitude, Metabase).
  • Working familiarity with GitHub or version control workflows.
