Network Manager

Summary
The Network Manager leads the global Network Operations team, owning performance, processes, and team development in a 24x7 environment. Reporting to the Head of Operations, this role connects daily execution with long-term strategy, requiring strong network engineering expertise and experience managing distributed teams.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & People Management
Lead, mentor, and develop Network Operations Tech Leads, supporting both technical and leadership growth;
Own the full employee lifecycle for the NetOps team, including hiring, onboarding, performance management, career development, and retention;
Ensure proper staffing and coverage across all operational shifts;
Build and maintain a high-performance culture based on ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement;
Promote cross-team alignment and knowledge sharing to ensure consistency across operations.
 
Operational Strategy & Governance
Define and enforce operational standards, processes, and SLAs across network operations;
Act as the escalation point for critical or prolonged network incidents, ensuring coordination and resolution;
Review and approve root cause analyses (RCAs), ensuring effective preventive actions;
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing MTTR, increasing network reliability, and improving efficiency;
Oversee monitoring and observability systems to ensure full visibility of the network environment.
 
Planning & Cross-Functional Collaboration
Align network operations strategy with the broader technology roadmap in collaboration with leadership and key stakeholders;
Coordinate network expansion, topology evolution, and capacity planning initiatives;
Manage relationships with connectivity providers, IXPs, and infrastructure partners;
Collaborate with engineering, security, and infrastructure teams on cross-functional initiatives;
Represent network operations in leadership discussions, providing insights and performance updates.
 
Documentation & Process Ownership
Own and maintain the network operations documentation framework, including runbooks, SOPs, diagrams, and incident procedures;
Define documentation standards and ensure accuracy and consistency across teams;
Lead regular operational reviews, such as incident postmortems, audits, and retrospectives.
 

Requirements

Skills & Qualifications
Advanced English communication skills (C1 or higher);
Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience;
Proven experience managing technical teams in network operations or similar 24x7 environments;
Strong technical background in networking, including:Layer 2 & 3 (VLANs, trunking, spanning tree)
IP networking (BGP, OSPF, ACLs, subnetting)
Network security (firewalls, DDoS mitigation)
Monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Zabbix, Prometheus, Grafana, LibreNMS)
Experience managing critical incidents with structured communication and resolution;
Strategic mindset with ability to balance operational demands and long-term planning;
Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills;
Industry certifications such as CCNA required; advanced certifications (e.g., CCNP) are a plus.
 
Nice to Have
Experience in ISPs, cloud environments, or large-scale infrastructure operations;
Familiarity with ITIL, NOC frameworks, or similar methodologies;
Experience managing vendor and carrier relationships;
Experience with multi-vendor network environments;
Background in scaling operations teams in high-growth environments.
